The EURO (Association of European Operational Research Societies) working group on OR in Agriculture and Forest Management invites you to participate in the EURO PhD School on “Optimization and Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture”, which will be hosted at the University of Lleida in Spain, in cooperation with its the ALIO working group Agroptimización and the CYTED thematic network AI4AgroIB, from June 26^th to July 4^th, 2025.

Scope: The main topic of this summer school turn around “Optimization and Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture”. Due to its interdisciplinary flavour, this conference brings together researchers of the areas of Decision Sciences, Operational Research, Agriculture, Computer Science, Animal Science among others. Agricultural Decision problems approached either with optimization, AI methods or both are very much welcome to this EURO PhD School/ELAVIO.

Contributions: We encourage the application of candidates wanting to be enriched with the presentations of reputed academics and researchers and exchange results of their PhD. All participants, accepted candidates, will have to present a poster. Applicants are requested to submit their curriculum vitae (including their academic track record), a letter outlining their motivation to attend, and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor to the Scientific Committee of the EPS via the Application form available in this website (REGISTRATION menu). Submissions Deadline has been extended: 18/03/2025.

Registration fee: there are two kind of applicants (1) supported by EURO or ALIO/CYTED with a registration fee of 450 €, they will be priorised according to the eligibility for financial support to cover travel expenses and/or registration fee. (2) The rest of accepted applicants, the registration fee is of 650€ without option of finacial support. The fee covers accommodation in double or triple room, lunches and social activities like banquet, visits and excursion during the summer school.
